Support · Private Photo Scrubber
Help inspecting and scrubbing photo metadata.
Guidance for supported inputs, verification results, saving, sharing, and reporting a problem.
Getting started
- Choose 1–20 JPEG or HEIC/HEIF still photos.
- Review the supported and unclassified metadata counts.
- Choose location-only removal or all supported privacy fields.
- Create new JPEG copies and review the re-check result.
- Save or share only copies marked Verified.
Supported inputs
JPEG and HEIC/HEIF still images are supported up to 50 megapixels and 30 MB per file. HEIC/HEIF inputs are converted to JPEG. PNG, RAW, video, and Live Photo pairs are not processed.
Why did a photo fail?
A photo may be unavailable in iCloud, damaged, too large, unsupported, unreadable, or affected by insufficient memory or storage. The app keeps item-level status and never labels a failed item Verified. Correct the condition and retry that photo.
Are originals changed?
No. The app creates new JPEG copies and checks that the original file did not change during processing. It does not edit or delete selected originals.
What does Verified mean?
Verified means the selected supported fields were absent when the output was re-parsed. Unclassified keys may remain and are shown separately. Verification is not a guarantee against hidden payloads or steganography.
Saving and sharing
Saving requests add-only photo-library permission. Sharing uses the iOS share sheet. Canceling the share sheet does not delete or alter the verified result.
